The full story
The Hindu College Staff Association (HCSA) has been staging a continuous protest and dharna lasting over two weeks in Delhi, demanding the removal of the college principal and the chairman of the governing body. Protesters have accused the administration of deviating from university admission rules, delaying faculty leave and promotions, bypassing the statutory Staff Council, and committing financial and procurement irregularities. The association also raised concerns regarding commercial naming of college buildings after corporate donors, campus safety issues including fire incidents, and the alleged selective targeting of faculty members from Dalit and vulnerable sections. Key demands include an independent inquiry into the allegations, unconditional withdrawal of show-cause notices issued to union leaders, and Delhi University temporarily taking over the college to prevent privatization. According to the association, members of Parliament Manoj Jha and Sudhakar Singh have visited to express solidarity, while memorandums submitted to the university vice-chancellor have yielded no effective response.
