Following controversial remarks made by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in Patna regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's late father during an event celebrating the birth anniversary of Bihar's first Chief Minister Shrikrishna Singh, the Bharatiya Janata Party announced nationwide demonstrations. Union home minister Amit Shah and other party leaders condemned the comments, stating that the opposition party had crossed limits of decency and repeatedly attacked the Prime Minister and his family.
