The full story
On October 24, clashes erupted in the center of Rouen between far-right and far-left militants following the dispersal of a demonstration. According to the public prosecutor, a video shared on social media captured masked individuals striking a person on the ground before police arrived. Local Socialist elected officials urged the Prime Minister to dissolve far-right groups such as Les Normaux and L'Action française, citing rising violence by groups acting openly in the city. The Rouen prosecutor's office announced an investigation for aggravated violence, entrusted to the national police, following a report under Article 40 from the prefect of Seine-Maritime.
