The full story

Residents of Tbilisi's Didube district, alongside architects and urban planners from the Save Expo movement, held protests against a major high-rise development planned on the Expo Georgia exhibition center grounds at 118 Tsereteli Avenue. The project, proposed by Cityzen Development, includes multiple high-rise residential buildings, a hotel, and a shopping center. Participants expressed concern over the loss of a rare green recreational space, increased traffic congestion, and worsening air pollution. Demonstrators demanded the suspension of administrative procedures and building permits pending public hearings and expert involvement. Expo Georgia's General Director defended the project as justified, while the developer maintained it would modernize the space.
