The full story

Social organisations, opposition parties, and the Cockroach Janata Party organized multi-day demonstrations in Bengaluru and other regions against the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Gathering at Freedom Park, participants including actor-activist Prakash Raj and YouTuber Dhruv Rathee voiced concerns over transparency, alleged widespread unauthorized deletions of eligible voters, and demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The demonstrations also featured a People's Tribunal where voters shared experiences regarding missing names. Authorities deployed heavy security around Freedom Park and the Chief Electoral Officer's office. While opposition groups accused authorities of vote theft and police action against leaders, the Election Commission, BJP, and police officials defended their legal duties and denied the allegations.
