The full story
The INDIA bloc alliance in Karnataka has announced a demonstration in Bengaluru scheduled for November 5 to protest against the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. According to Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president B K Hariprasad, the upcoming demonstration at Freedom Park follows a previous rally held at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi. Organisers allege that the revision process has led to the removal of numerous eligible voters and accuse constitutional bodies of bias. The coordination committee leading the campaign includes representatives from the Congress, CPI, CPI(M), CPI(ML) Liberation, Samajwadi Party, and Forward Bloc. Following the Bengaluru protest, the alliance plans to expand demonstrations to district and taluk levels across the state.
