The full story
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) conducted numerous path sanchalans or route marches across Bengaluru and several other districts in Karnataka on Sunday. The events marked Vijayadashami and the centenary celebrations of the organisation, drawing participation from children, youth, and senior members, alongside various political leaders. While some marches proceeded successfully under tight police security and conditional approvals, events in several districts including Tumakuru, Mulbagal, Chikkaballapur, and Koppal were postponed, deferred, or rescheduled due to administrative or permission-related issues. The marches took place amid an ongoing political confrontation between the opposition and the state government. Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge criticized the RSS for not securing formal permissions beforehand and questioned its registration status and funding sources, while participating BJP leaders accused the state administration of harassing the organisation with last-minute restrictions.
