The full story

Around 100 Delhi Police personnel staged a demonstration outside the police headquarters in New Delhi to protest the transfer of an Assistant Commissioner of Police and a Station House Officer. The transfer orders had been issued following a scuffle at the Shahdara police station on October 23, which had triggered an indefinite strike by district court lawyers demanding action against the officers. The protesting personnel gathered outside the headquarters carrying placards and posters, asking for a meeting with the Police Commissioner and the reversal of the transfer decisions. Senior police officials and a Deputy Commissioner of Police attempted to persuade the demonstrators to move inside and disperse, while security and paramilitary personnel were deployed around the area to maintain order.
